A new look for MPOC
With the tournament promotion scene hotting up MPOC have gone on the offensive and finally uprooted themselves from Xtion Paintball Park, Bukit Jalil to host Leg 4 at Padang Merbok in the heart of KL. With the new location comes the news that they will be the first promoters in Asia to use the Sup'Air arenas used by Millennium Europe for many of their international events. These nifty arenas use inflatable, self supporting netting supports which means an easier set up for the field staff. Simon Fournier of Sup'Air in Europe has travelled to Malaysia to assist in setting up the arenas and will be hosting a clinic on Sunday at 1pm for field owners wanting to know more about the system and how it works. MPOC will also be introducing the latest sports radars to regulate the speeds of the markers in-field - these radars are used by most of the international tournaments and can measure marker speeds from quite a distance away, especially good for checking speeds of markers off the break.

Malaysian Team podiums at...
The third event for the Millennium Eurpean Paintball Series was held under sunny skys in London over the weekend. Two teams from Malaysia flew over to compete in Division 3 M5 - Operation Raskal and Isi Rimba Warriors. Both teams play Division 1 in Malaysia. The hot conditions suited the Malaysian players as they took on teams from the UK and Europe. Operation Raskal failed to make the next round finishing 13th from 16 teams in Division 3 with Rimba Warriors finishing 5th in the prelims. We're not too sure what happened to the 4th placed team Operation Sandbaggers but Rimba Warriors were lucky enough to receive a Semi Finals match against Truands which they lost but they came back in the 3rd/4th place Finals against Assala Libreville from Gabon West Africa to take 3rd spot on the podium. Truands were the eventual Division 3 Champions. Congrats to all the players and those that supported them in their international quest.

A New Series - Singapore...
The Singapore Paintball Series (SPS) will be held on 16 & 17 October 2010 in East Coast Park (Angsana Field, next to carpark E2). From the same organizers who brought you the Singapore Paintball Novice Series (SPNS) in 2008 and 2009, this year's tournament will feature a 2 day event for participants with up to 4 different participating divisions. New to the tournament scene will be the Corporate and Tertiary Division which is targeted to introduce the sport of paintball to corporate companies and schools as an excellent form of teambuilding activity. "After taking a break from organizing paintball tournament in Singapore, the committee felt that it is time to introduce a new wave of Singapore paintball to the general public. Our focus for the SPS will be creating paintball awareness to the masses and to create an opportunity for people to try out paintball games in the park," exclaimed Jane Koh who is the SPS Tournament Director and the former President of the Paintball Association (Singapore). With the introduction of the Open Division which involved the use of electronic markers, the committee hopes to bring about a completely new tournament scene to the paintball community to Singapore. This is also the first time that electronic markers competition will be showcase to the crowd. With a strong restriction in the firearms law in Singapore, the organizers will be working closely with the governing authorities to ensure that there will be no hiccups to the tournament. With a combined industrial experience of more than 15 years, the SPS committee will be ready to rock the nation with Singapore's most exciting paintball tournament to date.
